Silver-throated Bushtit

Aegithalos glaucogularis (Gould, 1855)

Silver-throated Bushtit, Aegithalos glaucogularis, is a passerine in the bushtit family found in central, north-eastern and east-central China. It breeds in the Palearctic region across those parts of the country, with native areas in the middle and lower Yangtze basin and the Yellow River basin, and a further extension into Yunnan. It was once treated as part of the long-tailed tit, but it is set apart by its plumage and by clear genetic differences. Two subspecies are recognised, including the nominate form and a northern, subalpine race.
