Silvery-flanked Antwren, Myrmotherula luctuosa, is a bird of eastern and south-eastern Brazil, where it is found in coastal forest and secondary woodland. It was described by Pelzeln in 1868 and is treated as a monotypic species by the IOC. It lives in the understorey and mid-storey, including restinga, from sea level up to about 800 m. The species is resident throughout its range. Adult males and females differ in plumage, with the male showing a hidden white patch between the shoulders and the female having ochraceous underparts.
