Simple Antwren

Myrmothera simplex

The Simple Antwren is a small, insectivorous bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is known for its distinctive vocalizations and agile foraging behavior, often observed in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. This species forms monogamous pairs and builds cup-shaped nests in dense vegetation. The Simple Antwren is an important member of its ecosystem, contributing to insect control and seed dispersal. However, habitat loss and fragmentation pose significant threats to its populations.
