Sinaloa Martin

Sinaloa Martin, Progne sinaloae, is a swallow in the family Hirundinidae that breeds in western Mexico. It was first named by Nelson in 1898. Its breeding area lies on the western side of the Sierra Madre Occidental, from north-eastern Sonora south to Jalisco and Michoacán, and it is present there only from February to September. The bird is a complete migrant, leaving its breeding grounds outside that period. It is mainly associated with pine and pine-oak forest in subtropical and lower tropical zones, at 1,100 to 2,800 m. Its winter range is not known, though it is thought to be in northern South America.
