The Singing Quail is characterized by its mottled brown plumage, with a distinctive chestnut patch on the breast. It is a shy and elusive bird, often heard but rarely seen. Due to habitat loss and hunting pressure, the conservation status of the Singing Quail is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
