Troglodytes sissonii
Sisson's Wren (Troglodytes sissonii) is a small songbird native to the highlands of Mexico and Guatemala. It is known for its melodious and complex song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of pine-oak forests and cloud forests. This wren is typically secretive and elusive, foraging for insects and spiders in the leaf litter and low vegetation. Sisson's Wren is characterized by its distinctive reddish-brown plumage, with a white throat and belly. It has a relatively short tail and a slender, slightly curved bill. Despite its limited range, this species is not currently considered threatened.
