Slate-colored Solitaire

Myadestes unicolor

The Slate-colored Solitaire is a medium-sized thrush found in the highland forests of Central America. It is known for its striking slate-colored plumage and melodious song. This species primarily forages for insects, berries, and small fruits in the dense undergrowth of montane cloud forests. The Slate-colored Solitaire is an important seed disperser for many plant species in its habitat. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is facing population declines in some parts of its range.
