Slate-colored Solitaire, Myadestes unicolor, is a thrush of Middle America, breeding from southern Mexico to Nicaragua in mountain forests. It is a resident of highland cloudforest, pine-oak woodland and montane evergreen forest, though some birds shift to lower ground after the breeding season. The species was first described in 1857 and is treated as a single form. Adults are mainly slaty grey, with a broken white eye-ring, dark bill, yellowish legs and feet, and whitish grey outer tail feathers. It feeds on fruit and places a moss nest on the ground, usually on a ravine slope.
