Slaty-backed Chat-Tyrant, Ochthoeca cinnamomeiventris, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family that breeds in South America from south-western Venezuela to northern Peru. It lives in humid Andean forest and woodland, especially where thick growth lines streams and damp ravines. The bird is a small chat-tyrant with the sexes alike. Adults show a dark slaty grey head with a white eyebrow, darker upperparts and tail, and a deep chestnut to reddish brown breast and belly, with buffy white on the vent and centre of the lower belly. It was first described in 1843.
