Slaty-backed Jungle Flycatcher, Vauriella goodfellowi, is a passerine of montane Mindanao in the southern Philippines. It belongs to the Old World flycatcher family and is confined to the island of Mindanao. It lives in tropical moist montane forest, especially mossy forest above 1,000 metres, and is usually seen alone or in pairs. The bird is unobtrusive and often remains still in the understorey near the ground. It is rare within its range and its numbers are thought to be falling because of habitat loss.
