Meliphaga notata
The Slaty-chinned Honeyeater (Meliphaga notata) is a small to medium-sized bird native to the rainforests and woodlands of New Guinea and nearby islands. It is characterized by its distinctive slaty-blue chin and throat, olive-green upperparts, and yellow underparts. This species primarily feeds on nectar, insects, and fruits, and is known for its active and agile foraging behavior. The Slaty-chinned Honeyeater plays an important role in pollination and seed dispersal within its habitat. Although not currently classified by the IUCN, its population is believed to be stable, and it is not considered to be at immediate risk.
