Chroicocephalus genei
The Slender-billed gull is a medium-sized gull with a slender, slightly drooping bill. During the breeding season, adults have a black hood, white body, and gray wings. Outside of the breeding season, their plumage becomes mottled with brown. They are often found in coastal areas, particularly around shallow lagoons, estuaries, and marshes. Slender-billed gulls are opportunistic feeders, preying on small fish, insects, and scavenging for food. They are known for their graceful flight and distinctive calls. This species is vulnerable to habitat loss and disturbance, particularly at breeding sites.
