Timaliidae — Babblers, Scimitar Babblers
Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler, Pomatorhinus superciliaris, is a passerine of the babbler family found from the Himalayas to north-western Vietnam. It lives in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests across that part of the Oriental Region. The species was once treated in its own genus, Xiphirhynchus, before being placed in Pomatorhinus after a 2009 molecular study showed it belonged with other members of that group. It was described by Blyth in 1842.
