Smoke-colored Pewee, Contopus fumigatus, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family found in South America from Venezuela to north-west Argentina. It lives in subtropical and tropical dry forest, moist montane forest, and in heavily altered former woodland. The bird is a fairly common resident across its range. It is a grey pewee with a slight crest, and adults show a largely even dusky tone, with both sexes looking the same. It was first described in 1837 by d’Orbigny and Lafresnaye.
