Peneothello cryptoleuca (Hartert, EJO, 1930)

Smoky Robin, Peneothello cryptoleuca, is a bird of West Papua, Indonesia, where it is found in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It belongs to the Australasian robin family. The species was first described in 1930 from birds collected in the Arfak Mountains of northwest New Guinea, near Lehuma and Ditschi. Three subspecies are recognised: cryptoleuca in montane northwestern New Guinea and the Foja Mountains, albidior in montane west-central New Guinea, and maxima in the Kumawa Mountains of western New Guinea.
