Eudyptes robustus
The Snares crested penguin, scientifically known as Eudyptes robustus, is a species of crested penguin endemic to the Snares Islands in New Zealand. These penguins are known for their striking yellow crest feathers that extend from their eyes to the back of their heads. They have a black upper body and white underbelly, with a distinct pink patch at the base of their bill. Snares crested penguins are skilled swimmers and agile on land, using their wings for propulsion in the water and their feet for balance on rocky terrain. They primarily feed on fish and squid, foraging in the rich waters surrounding their island habitat.
