Snow Goose

Anser caerulescens

The Snow Goose, also known as the Blue Goose, is a medium-sized North American waterfowl species. It is known for its striking white plumage with black wingtips, although a dark morph with bluish-gray plumage also exists. These geese undertake long migrations, breeding in the Arctic and wintering in southern regions. They are often found in large flocks, and their distinctive honking calls can be heard as they fly overhead. Snow Geese primarily feed on grasses, sedges, and grains, and their populations have been increasing in some areas, leading to concerns about overgrazing of their Arctic breeding grounds.
