Cacicus latirostris

The Solitary Cacique (Cacicus latirostris) is a medium-sized passerine bird found in South America. It is known for its distinctive yellow and black plumage, with a bright yellow body and black wings and tail. The species is often found in open woodlands, forest edges, and savannas, where it forages for insects and fruits. Solitary Caciques are known for their loud, melodious calls and are often seen in small groups or pairs. They build hanging basket-shaped nests in trees, and are known for their communal nesting habits. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation are potential threats to this species.
