Cacatua ducorpsii Pucheran, 1853
Solomons Corella, Cacatua ducorpsii, is a cockatoo of the Solomon Islands, from Buka to Malaita and Guadalcanal, with a range across the northern and central islands except Ranongga. It is found in lowland rainforest, secondary forest, cleared ground and gardens. A distinctive feature is its recumbent crest, which stands up like a sail when raised. It is a pale-billed bird with a blue eye ring. It nests in tree cavities, lays white eggs, usually two at a time, and breeds in the wild from July to September.
