Sombre Kingfisher, Todiramphus funebris, is a bird of the family Alcedinidae that breeds in Australasia on Halmahera in the northern Moluccas. Endemic to that island, it is found in primary forest, often near clearings, as well as swamp forest, mature secondary woodland and mangroves. It also uses plantations and other cultivated areas. Bonaparte described the species in 1850. Its plumage is piebald, with a white belly and collar, olive to black upper parts, and a dark bill. It is a relatively large kingfisher, reaching up to 28 cm.
