Thamnophilidae — Antbirds
Sooretama Slaty Antshrike, Thamnophilus ambiguus, is a bird of south-eastern Brazil in the antbird family. It was first described by Swainson in 1825. Its range is coastal from southern Sergipe to Rio de Janeiro state, with an inland extension along the Doce River valley in Minas Gerais. It lives in the understorey and middle levels of evergreen forest, sandy-soil woodland and nearby secondary growth, and it especially uses forest edges and openings made by fallen trees. It is a monotypic species and is presumed to remain in its range throughout the year.
