Arremon franciscanus

The Sooty-capped Babbler (Arremon franciscanus) is a small bird species found in the subtropical or tropical moist montane forests of South America. It is characterized by its distinctive sooty-black cap and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are pale gray with a buffy wash. This babbler is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. The species is generally shy and elusive, making it a challenging sighting for birdwatchers.
