Sooty-headed Wren, Pheugopedius spadix, is a bird of the wren family found in Panama and Colombia, in Middle America and South America. It lives in humid forest, cloudforest and dense secondary growth, especially where moss is abundant, and is mainly recorded in the Pacific lowlands and nearby uplands. The species was once grouped with the black-throated wren, but it is now treated separately because of differences in plumage, song and range. It is placed in Passeriformes and was described by Bangs in 1910.
