Southern Emerald Toucanet, Aulacorhynchus albivitta, is a toucan of humid montane forest in South America, from Colombia and western Venezuela through Ecuador to western Bolivia. It also uses forest edges, secondary growth, plantations and clearings with scattered trees. The bird is non-migratory and often appears in small groups. It forages while perched in the middle and upper forest levels. Its bill is black with a broad yellow line along the top and a white mark at the base, and the throat pattern varies between subspecies.
