Macronectes halli

The Southern Giant Petrel, scientifically known as Macronectes halli, is a large seabird found in the Southern Ocean. It has a wingspan of about 185-205 cm and is known for its scavenging behavior, often feeding on carrion and stealing food from other seabirds. This species has a pale body with dark wings and a hooked bill, and it is well adapted for long-distance oceanic flights. Southern Giant Petrels are known for their aggressive behavior and are often seen in colonies on sub-Antarctic islands, where they breed and raise their chicks.
