Southern Red-fronted Tinkerbird, Pogoniulus pusillus, is a bird of eastern forest from southern Mozambique to eastern South Africa in the African barbet family Lybiidae. It was described by Dumont in 1805. It is linked with juniper forest and scrub, and its range is in Africa. The bird is set apart by a red spot on the forehead, a golden wing patch, and a darker overall look than the yellow-fronted tinkerbird. It was once treated as the same species as the northern red-fronted tinkerbird.
