Tchagra tchagra
The Southern Tchagra, scientifically known as Tchagra tchagra, is a small to medium-sized bird found in southern Africa. It is characterized by its distinctive black mask and white eyebrow, with a brownish-grey upper body and a rufous underbody. This species is known for its melodious and varied calls, often heard in dense shrubbery and woodland areas. The Southern Tchagra is an insectivorous bird, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in its habitat. It prefers dense undergrowth and thickets in savannas, woodlands, and scrublands. This species is not currently considered at risk and is labeled as Least Concern by the IUCN.
