Speckle-breasted Wren, Pheugopedius sclateri, is a bird of the Troglodytidae family found in South America from Colombia to Peru. It is represented by three subspecies, including forms from the Marañón drainage, Colombia, and southern Ecuador into northern Peru. The birds occupy dry forest undergrowth, forest edges, open woodland, and deciduous semi-humid woodland with dense understorey, at elevations from the lowlands to 2,000 m. The species is marked by a narrow white supercilium, with plumage that varies between the subspecies, including barred underparts or a heavily speckled breast.
