Speckled Boobook

Speckled Boobook, Ninox punctulata, is an owl of Sulawesi, Kabaena, Muna and Butung in Australasia, where it occurs in forests near streams, open woodland and cultivated areas with scattered trees. It is also known from lower ground and can be seen higher up to 2,300 m above sea level. Its plumage is reddish-brown, with white spotting on the head, back and wings, a white throat patch, a black facial disk, dark brown eyes and white eyebrows. It is fairly common across its range.
