Speckled Nightingale-Thrush, Catharus maculatus, is a thrush of humid forest in South America, breeding from eastern Colombia to northern Argentina. It is a resident bird of the Andes, with a scattered range through Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and into Argentina. Its plumage is marked by a dark head in the male, an orange eye-ring, olive upperparts, and a yellow underpart heavily spotted with dusky markings. The female is greyer on the head and crown, and the southern race has a buff throat.
