Spectacled Bulbul

Alophoixus bres

The Spectacled Bulbul (Alophoixus bres) is a medium-sized songbird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive appearance, with a black crest and eyestripe that gives it a 'spectacled' look. The upperparts are olive-green, and the underparts are yellow with a grayish wash. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard echoing through the forest canopy. Spectacled Bulbuls are primarily insectivorous, foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest. They also feed on fruits and berries. Despite facing habitat loss and degradation, the Spectacled Bulbul is still relatively common in its range.
