Spectacled Thrush

Turdinus atrigularis

The Spectacled Thrush (Turdinus atrigularis) is a medium-sized songbird found in the cloud forests of the Andes in South America. It is characterized by its distinctive black mask-like markings around the eyes, which give it the appearance of wearing spectacles. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard echoing through the dense foliage of its habitat. The Spectacled Thrush is an insectivorous bird, foraging for insects, spiders, and small fruits in the understory and lower canopy of the cloud forest. It is an important seed disperser for many plant species in its ecosystem.
