Xiphorhynchus spixii
Spix's Woodcreeper (Xiphorhynchus spixii) is a species of bird found in the Atlantic Forest of eastern Brazil. It is a medium-sized woodcreeper with a distinctive long, slightly decurved bill. This species is typically found foraging for insects and small invertebrates in the understory and lower canopy of humid forests. Spix's Woodcreeper is known for its distinctive vocalizations, including a series of loud, clear whistles. Despite being relatively common in its range, habitat loss and fragmentation pose significant threats to its populations.
