This lapwing is often found in open grasslands, wetlands, and agricultural areas, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. It is known for its distinctive call, a repeated 'kleep-kleep-kleep' sound. The Spot-breasted Lapwing is known for its vigilant behavior, often sounding alarm calls and performing distraction displays to protect its nest from predators.
