Spot-breasted Oriole, Icterus pectoralis, is a bird of Middle America, widespread across its breeding range from Mexico through Central America. It belongs to the Icteridae family. In its native range it is mainly associated with arid woodland and scrub, and it also uses lightly treed pasture, ranchland, villages and the margins of shade coffee plantations. It is a year-round resident. The species is recognised by its spotted breast, with the nominate form showing a black bib and pale orange underparts below it. A population of the same subspecies has been established in south-eastern Florida since the 1940s.
