Spot-breasted Scimitar Babbler, Erythrogenys mcclellandi, breeds in south Assam and western Myanmar in the Oriental Region. It belongs to the babbler family Timaliidae and was described by Godwin-Austen in 1870. The bird is associated with the Eastern Himalaya and western Myanmar, and it uses subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest as well as subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is affected by mercury build-up in its feathers.
