Spot-fronted Swift, Cypseloides cherriei, is a swift of Middle America and South America, breeding from Costa Rica to northern Venezuela and northern Ecuador. It was described by Ridgway in 1893 and belongs to the family Apodidae. Its range is scattered, with records from Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru. The bird is almost wholly dark brown-black, with pale underwings and a white chin. It is named for the clear white marks beside the bill and behind the eyes.
