Spot-winged Antshrike, Pygiptila stellaris, is a passerine of Amazonia in South America, where it breeds across Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, with French Guiana also mentioned. It is the only member of its genus. The bird has a short tail and a heavy bill, and the sexes differ strongly in plumage. Males are mostly grey with a black crown and white spots on the wing coverts, while females are grey with clay tones and cinnamon-tawny wings without spots. It lives in lowland evergreen forest and nearby secondary forest.
