Carpodacus rodopeplus (Vigors, 1831)
Spot-winged Rosefinch, Carpodacus rodopeplus, is a finch of the western to east-central Himalayas, breeding in alpine meadows, high montane scrub and forest edges from western Uttarakhand, southern Tibet and Sikkim. Outside the breeding season it moves to lower elevations. It belongs to the family Fringillidae and was described by Vigors in 1831. Its range lies across the Palearctic and Oriental regions. The species is also known as the spotted rosefinch.
