Spotted Antpitta, Hylopezus macularius, is a passerine of the antpitta family that breeds in northern Amazonia in South America. It lives on the forest floor and in the lower growth of mature lowland woodland, including terra firme and gallery forest. The species is resident across its range. It is found in eastern Venezuela, the Guianas, northeastern Brazil, southern Venezuela, south-eastern Colombia, north-eastern Peru and the Negro River basin in north-western Brazil. It is a ground-foraging bird that takes insects and is usually seen alone, though pairs are also recorded.
