The Spotted Antwren (Terenura maculata) is a small passerine bird found in the Amazon Basin of South America. It is known for its distinct black and white spotted plumage, with the male having a black crown and the female having a rufous crown. These birds are typically found in the understory of tropical rainforests, where they forage for insects and small invertebrates. They are often observed in mixed-species flocks, moving actively through the dense vegetation. The Spotted Antwren is considered to be of least concern on the IUCN Red List, as it has a large range and stable population.
