Chlamydera maculata

The Spotted Bowerbird, scientifically known as Chlamydera maculata, is a medium-sized bird species found in Australia. It is known for its unique courtship behavior, where the male builds and decorates a bower to attract females. The plumage of the Spotted Bowerbird is predominantly olive-brown with distinct white spots, and the males have a striking yellow throat. These birds are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits, seeds, and insects. They inhabit open woodlands, savannas, and shrublands, often near water sources. The Spotted Bowerbird is not currently considered threatened and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
