Spotted Elachura

Elachura formosa

The Spotted Elachura is a small, elusive bird found in the eastern Himalayas and parts of Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive spotted plumage and melodious song. This species is typically found in dense undergrowth of subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, often near streams or bamboo thickets. The Spotted Elachura forages on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates. Despite its striking appearance and unique vocalizations, this species is rarely seen due to its secretive nature and challenging habitat. Conservation efforts are hindered by limited knowledge of its population and distribution.
