Spotted Kestrel, Falco moluccensis, is a falcon of the Oriental Region and Australasia, breeding in southern Philippines, Java and Bali, Sulawesi, the Moluccas and the Lesser Sundas. It is also found across Indonesia and Timor-Leste. It favours grassland with scattered trees, lightly wooded farmland, forest edges and clearings, and may also use logging roads and places near people. It is a fairly sedentary bird with movements linked to the wet and dry seasons. Little else is known about its life history.
