Squacco Heron

The Squacco Heron is known for its distinctive squatting posture while hunting, often standing motionless for long periods. Its breeding colonies are typically found in reed beds and marshes, where it constructs a platform nest. Despite facing threats such as habitat loss and disturbance, the Squacco Heron is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
