Sri Lanka Hill Myna, Gracula ptilogenys, is a starling found in Sri Lanka’s forests and cultivated areas. It was described by Blyth in 1846. Endemic to the island, it is set apart from the southern hill myna by the form and placement of its wattles and by its heavier orange-red bill. The sexes look alike in plumage, though the iris is pale in females and dark in males. Young birds have a less glossy look, a duller bill and smaller wattles.
