St. Helena Plover, Anarhynchus sanctaehelenae, is a plover of the family Charadriidae that lives on St. Helena in the tropical south-east Atlantic Ocean. It is endemic to the island and is locally called the wirebird because of its thin legs. The bird is the national bird of St Helena and has appeared on the country’s coins. It resembles Kittlitz's plover and the Madagascar plover, but is a little larger and lacks chamois colouring.
