The St Helena Plover, also known as the wirebird, is a small wader endemic to the island of St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean. It has a distinctive long, thin bill and a mottled brown plumage, providing excellent camouflage in its rocky and grassy habitat. These birds are often seen foraging for invertebrates in the island's coastal areas and can also be found in open grasslands. The St Helena Plover is an important symbol for the island and is featured on its coat of arms.
