Spizocorys starki

Stark's Lark is a small, ground-dwelling bird found in the arid savannas and grasslands of southern Africa. It is known for its distinctive song and intricate display flights during the breeding season. This lark has a cryptic plumage, with streaked brown and buff upperparts, and a pale underbelly. Its diet consists of seeds and insects, which it forages for on the ground. Stark's Lark is well-adapted to the harsh, semi-arid environments it inhabits, utilizing its camouflage to evade predators and seeking out sparse vegetation for nesting.
