Pelargopsis capensis (Linnaeus, 1766)

Stork-billed Kingfisher, Pelargopsis capensis, is a kingfisher of the Oriental Region, widespread across tropical South and Southeast Asia from India to Indonesia. It is a tree kingfisher that is found in lowland places with trees, especially near streams, ponds, lakes, rivers and coasts. The bird is very large and has a heavy bill. Its head is brown, the chin is paler, and the sexes look alike. It is mostly sedentary across its range, though it can disperse and may shift in dry weather in search of water.
