Storm's stork

Ciconia stormi

Storm's stork (Ciconia stormi) is a large, distinctive bird found in the lowland forests of Southeast Asia. This stork is recognized by its striking black and white plumage, long red bill, and red legs. It primarily feeds on fish, amphibians, and small reptiles, using its sharp bill to catch prey. Storm's storks are known for their impressive nesting behavior, building large stick nests high in the trees. They are often seen in pairs or small groups, and their distinctive calls can be heard echoing through the forest. Due to habitat loss and hunting, Storm's stork is considered vulnerable to extinction.
