Streak-backed Canastero, Asthenes wyatti, is a bird of the Furnariidae family found across the Andes from Venezuela to central Argentina. It lives in South American highland grasslands, including páramo and puna, and is often associated with dry open slopes with rocks, usually with tall tussock grass and low shrubs. The sexes look alike. The species is marked by streaking on the upperparts, and the different subspecies vary in the tone and extent of that pattern, along with the colour of the throat, underparts, wings and tail.
